Marrakech and Spiritual Sahara

You'll leave Marrakech in the morning for the High Atlas Mountains. The road winds its way up to the pass of Tizi´n´Tichka and down to the city of Ouarzazate, 42 km from there we discover the town of Skoura, situated in the heart of the Valley of the Palms. We will take a stroll through the oasis, whose exuberant vegetation increases the value of the Kasbahs' secret. From here you will make a trip to the Dades Gorge. From there it is a highway full of red and mallow ochre coloured kasbahs and ksour until we pass through Boumalne where the landscape opens out and we are surrounded by stony plateaus where camels graze. After a full journey of ksours, oases and palms, we will arrive at Tineghir, 1350 metres of altitude and surrounded by palm groves, here you will spend the night in the Riad. Dinner and breakfast included.

This morning after breakfast we will be visiting the Todra Gorges, whose walls are narrowed and get more and more steep until they reach 300 metres of height. This is favourite playground for international climbers. Once we have admired this spectacular landscape we will continue towards the town called Tinejdad to get to Ksar of Touroug enclosed by a lovely oasis. Shortly after, we will enter the palm grove of Jorf which goes on until our arrival at Erfoud, this town is well known for producing some of the best dates in the country. It is also famous for its production of artisan goods from fossils and geological finds in the area. Eventually we will arrive at the desert with its voluptuous sculptured dunes and fine gold coloured sands. We will cross the dune of Erg Chebbi passing through Merzouga and Taouz, here the tarred road gives way to the old tracks of the Paris Dakar rally, we continue until our arrival at the Desert of Ouzina's dunes. To spend the night you can choose between Hotel Kasbah Ouzina or in Haimas which are Nomadic tents.

This itinerary crosses the famous untarred road of the Paris Dakar Rally track until arriving at the Saharan regions, south of Jbel Saghro. Afterwards, we will head to Msissi until we reach the track that leads to Alnif, a highway that rises through a deserted landscape. Then we will arrive at Msissi, a remote town in the heart of the hamada or black desert. After Alnif, we will arrive at the palm grove of Tazzarine and cross the precious towns next to the Jbel Tizouguirine. We will pass by towns such as Nkob or Tansikht to enjoy its panoramic views and its prolific regal Kasbahs. Then, we will gain access to the Draa Valley, where there is an immense serpentine path of verdant greenness for about 250 km that penetrates the desert and that will lead us to a central town in the palm grove. Our accommodation will be in a hostel in the heart of the Draa Valley.

We will leave the oases of the Draa Valley and continue our journey northwards to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Morocco to visit the famous kasbahs of Ait Benhaddou, a jewel of the region that has been given the status of World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a fortified town with beautiful crenelated and decorated towers and Kasbahs, one of the most beautiful towns of the region of Glaoui. Nearby there is also the magnificent Kasbah Telouet, a palace of the Pacha of Marrakech and a testament to the myriad of gifted artisans in the region. From here we will cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains, over the high pass of Tizi´n´Tichka and down to the plains of Marrakech.
