Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Valley
We pick up you from your accommodation in Marrakech. You will be driven across the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m), you will have opportunities to take photos and enjoy the scenes of High Atlas Mountains along with Berber villages on the way. Our next stop is in the village of Aït Benhaddou where we will be having a lunch break after which we will be exploring the exotic Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou.
From here we head to Ouarzazate where you may have a stop to view the Kasbah of Taourirt that was built by the Glaoui dynasty, then to Skoura where you will be mesmerised with the Palm Grove along the way.
We continue our journey on towards Boumalne Dades passing by Kelaat M’gouna (Valley of the Roses), and the Dades Valley (Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs). Dinner and overnight will be in a hotel in the Hotel .
Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Tinghir; from there we enter the Todra Gorges. You will have the chance to stop for a panoramic view of the river, continuing on the road alongside the river to reach the gorges where you will have a break for lunch. You can walk on foot through this stunning place while enjoying the views of high rock walls.
From here we drive to Merzouga passing by Tinejdad and Erfoud, you may have a stop in Erfoud to visit one of the fossil workshops and showrooms, then we continue to your hotel situated at the foot of the orange dunes of Erg Chebbi.
You will experience a camel ride to reach the desert camp in the middle of the dunes where you will spend the night, enjoy your evening, dinner under the stars and sleep in a Nomad Berber tent
Exploring the Desert of Merzouga
In the morning when you come back from the camel ride to your hotel, you can have breakfast, shower and relax then we will depart for Rissani. You will have a short visit to Zawiya Moulay Ali ash-Sharif and you may also investigate the Souk (local market) with the opportunity to see the Foundouks where the donkeys gather.
After lunch, we return to the dunes by track and see: the oasis of Merzouga, visit nomads in their tents, Khamlia village to listen to their Gnawa Music, the M´fiss mines, and the desert plateaus. We go back to the hotel where you spend the night in the desert hotel with dinner and breakfast.
Merzouga – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fez
After breakfast at the hotel we continue on our drive toward Fes passing by Erfoud, our next stop is at the panoramic view of Aoufous Oasis. Later on, you will pass by Errachidia known as the military city due to its numerous garrisons. We may stop at Barrage Hassan Adakhil for photos.
Our journey continues alongside the Ziz River, you will enjoy the beautiful scenes of the Ksours and Ziz Gorges and you will pass by the French built Legionnaires Tunnel (Zaabal). From there the trip takes us through the Middle Atlas Mountains and we will cross the Tizi n’Talghom Pass (1907m). We arrive in Midelt where you will have lunch.
Afterwards, you will enjoy the great views of Jebel Aachi Mountain with its snow-covered peaks. Leaving Midelt we drive towards Azrou where you will have the chance to view the 800 year old tree named Cedre Gouraud and meet the Barbary monkeys in the cedar forest. From here we continue to Ifrane “The Switzerland of Morocco, you will see the stone lion and can take pictures.
You may have a visit to Al-khawayn (Two Brothers) University. Continuing on our drive to Fes we pass by Imouzzar Kandar. When we arrive in Fes you will transfer to the hotel of your choice.
