Marrakech - Tizi ´n´Tichka - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley/Gorges
We will pick up you from your hotel/riad/ bus station to start our journey from Marrakech to the spectacular Dades Gorges. We cross the Tizi-n-Tichka Atlas pass, with far-reaching views across the mountains, to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet. After a visit to the Glaoui palace hidden inside its ruined walls, we continue to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, a magnificent fortified village (Ksour). You will take your lunch at either Ait Benhaddou or in Ouarzazate and then continue to Dades valley, we will spend the night in a riad/hotel in Dades Gorges.
Dades Gorges - Tinghir - Todra Gorges - Tinjdad - Erfoud - Merzouga
After our breakfast, we depart from Dades gorges for the Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Berber villages are scattered along the way, we’ll pass through Tinjdad, Jorf and Erfoud in which we’ll feel the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, and then we continue to Merzouga. After relaxing for a few minutes in Merzouga, we will be going to ride the camels that are waiting to take us on an adventure in the sand dunes. The night will be spent in traditional nomad haimas which is a tented camp, with drumming music in the middle of the Sahara. This is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset and if you wish to get up early, also the sunrise. When we arrive at the camp we go to some high dunes to see the sunset, afterwards there will be a typical Berber dinner prepared for you and eaten round the campfire and we will spend the night in nomad tents.
Camel trekking back to Merzouga - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
After seeing the sunrise in the desert, we return on the camels to Merzouga. In the hotel you can take a shower and have breakfast. Then we start our journey back to Marrakech through the Berber villages of the Atlas Mountains. Our route takes us to Tinjdad, Tinghir, Todra Gorges, Boumalne Dades, Kelaat M´gouna and Ouarzazate, finally arriving in Marrakech by late evening/night.
