With a start in Marrakech we’ll drive to Ouarzazate through the dramatic Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on the twisted roads and through the Berber villages. We will arrive at the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, now a UNESCO world heritage site and house of many Glaoui family members.

Day 1

Arrival at the airport in Fes and transfer to your hotel. The tour starts in Fes.

Day 2

Visiting Fez UNESCO World Heritage Site

After breakfast in your hotel our guide will meet you to start your guided tour of Fez. The whole day will be devoted to discovering the intellectual city of the kingdom. You will be able to visit many monuments, such as, Madrassas (Koranic schools), Sahrij, Bouananiya and Attarine, the souks, Fez El-Jdid and the Quaraouyine Mosque which is the oldest university in the world still in use. There are many more beautiful places to visit, also the fountains which are in each district and the many gifted artisans working in tiny workshops in an age old traditional manner. The narrow streets and alleyways hide a maze of fascinating and interesting historical and cultural buildings. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 3

Fez - Azrou - Khenifra - The river Oum Rabiaa´s source - Imilchil

You will depart in the morning from Fes towards Imilchil crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains and passing by the village of Azrou. This is the area known as Little Switzerland because of the alpine style architecture and the great cedar forests. Here too is the ski resort of Michlifin. The whole region is a national park with far reaching views to the High Atlas and over the cedar forest, home to the indigenous Barbary monkeys. You will arrive at the sources of the Oum Rabiaa River and have a picnic lunch in these picturesque sources that give life to the river of rivers. It is the second largest river in Morocco and has six dams, it winds its way all the way to the Atlantic feeding many other rivers. You will take a stroll through the valley where you will be able to contemplate the magnificent waterfalls and later on you will continue for Imilchil, a Berber village known for its Marriage Festival. Night in a hostel.

Day 4

Imilchil - Aït Hani - Assoul - Amellago Gorges - Goulmina - Erfoud - Erg Chebbi Desert

In the morning we will depart from our accommodation after our breakfast towards the desert of Erg Chebbi. On the way you will enjoy spectacular scenery with views over the canyons. You will go through numerous Berber villages and make a stop in some of them to discover the way of life and drink a cup of tea with the nomads who live in the caves. Along the way you will have a picnic and after, you will head towards the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will go to a hotel in Merzouga where you can prepare for the camel trek into the beautiful golden sand Dunes, there you will spend the evening in a bivouac camp and enjoy a Berber dinner, some local music around the camp fire and sleep in traditional Nomad camel hair tent.

Day 5

 Erg Chebbi - Merzouga - Rissani - Midelt - Ifrane - Fez

We always recommend that you wake up early enough to witness the sunrise over the dunes and enjoy the opportunity to get some special photos. We return by camels to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. You will set off on the return journey to Fez through a different route. First, you will make a stop in Rissani and visit its famous street market, where nomads of the area go to stock up with goods. Afterwards you will travel along the winding verdant palm grove of Ziz, we will make a stop in the gorge for some great photos, then you will continue towards Midelt to eat lunch. After, you will head towards Fez, taking a stop in the cedar forests where you may see some of the indigenous Barbary monkeys. The night will be in a hotel. This is the end of our service.
