Day 1: Exploring Marrakech

Arrival at the Marrakech Menara Airport. You will be welcomed by our staff and taken to your hotel. After having been registered and depending on your arrival time, you will enjoy a tour around Marrakech. Return to your hotel. The afternoon is free time and dinner in the famous Djemaa el Fna square. Lodging and breakfast.

Day 2: Marrakech - High Atlas - Telouet - Aït Benhaddou - Ouarzazate

In the morning after breakfast we depart from Marrakech and its red plains, you will be traveling southwards crossing the majestic mountains of the High Atlas and the Tizi´n´Tichka high pass 2260 metres in altitude. On the way we will see the capital of the Pasha of Marrakech, visiting its fortified palace of adobe and stone situated in the Kasbah of Telouet and whose towers will give you the chance to admire the surroundings of the town. Another jewel of the region is Aït Benhaddou, a beautiful fortified village with crenellated and decorated towers regarded as one of the most beautiful places of the area. Furthermore, Aït Benhaddou has been given the status of World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a fortress town still inhabited by 8 or 9 Berber families and is well known as a film location for many blockbuster movies. After your visit we continue to the city of Ouarzazate where you will have dinner and sleep in a hotel.

Day 3: Ouarzazate - Rose Valley - Boutaghrar - Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge

After breakfast, we leave Ouarzazate for the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs and discover hidden Kasbahs situated in the heart of the Valley of the Palms. Then we will visit the Rose Valley, the Dades Gorges and Boumalne that are situated along the banks of the Dades River, a road strewn with Kasbahs and ksours which, together with a palm grove, make the landscape very colourful, really amazing and special. The last place we will visit today is a spectacular gorge that is carved out of a 300 metres deep canyon, an impressive place to spend the night in a nearby hotel.

Day 4: Todra Gorges - Tineghir - Hamada - Ouzina Desert

After breakfast, we depart form the hotel for a stroll through the Todra Gorges at 300 metres of altitude and have the chance to appreciate the life of the Berbers in the isolated mountains. This massive canyon is a popular place for international climbers and it´s easy to see why. From here we pass through the town of Tinghir with its old adobe medina and continue to the region of Tafilalet, famous for its date production. The rest of our journey today is off road on the old Paris Dakar Rally tracks that cross this desert region. You will also have the opportunity of exploring the region of Mharech, the black deserts or Hamada and the river. You'll reach Ramlia oasis and continue to the golden sculptured dunes of Ouzina where you spend the night in a Kasbah hotel.

Day 5: Ouzina - the Magic Desert of Erg Chebbi

This itinerary crosses a hamada or black desert, the desert, tarred oueds or riverbeds, Merzouga, Ouzina, Jdaid, Taouz and Khamlia. An exciting day of adventure uncovering hidden secrets of the landscapes and indigenous peoples, their music, culture and traditions. You will appreciate the pure beauty of the route of the lovely Erg Chebbi and make a stop to enjoy a delicious mint tea accompanied by Sudanese musicians at the village of Khamlia. before arriving at Merzouga. Once arrived, you will have the opportunity of changing the 4x4 for 8x8, the camels, and start a caravan to explore the sea of dunes. You will experience a little of the life of the Berbers, spending the night under a sky full of stars and listening to the drum music of the Sahara. Dinner and overnight in a bivouac tent.

Day 6: Erg Chebbi Oasis - Rissani - Draa Valley

After breakfast we leave the desert dunes and travel to the city of Rissani, the first economic empire of the country; birthplace of the Alaouite Dynasty, visit its souks and set off for the Draa Valley which is approximately 164 km of tarred road, discovering numerous villages, regal Kasbahs and verdant oases. After crossing Jbel Saghro we delve into the heart of the massive Draa Valley, an oasis that snakes its way 250 km until it disappears into the distant dunes of the Sahara. Overnight will be in a local hotel.

Day 7: Draa Valley - Tamnougalt - Agdz - Marrakech

We will start the itinerary visiting numerous villages and oases. We will be crossing the Draa Valley and visiting the impressive ksar of Tamnougalt, an important trading point for the caravanserai. This magnificent oasis town now lies mostly in ruins, except for a few Kasbahs that have been renovated and rebuilt using traditional methods and materials. Agdz is an important town at the crossroads of some impressive mountains, and has many superb Kasbahs in its old medina. We take the passage of Jbel Saghro, with its amazing dunes in a heart shape and striking mountains that will assure us an impressive route. On our way we will lunch and after a rest we will cross the High Atlas Mountains over the pass of Tizi´n´Tichka at 2260metres and down into the plains where we will reach Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening. Overnight in Marrakech in Riad.

Day 8: End of Itinerary

Departure from Marrakech and transfer to the airport.
